GRUNDFOS EXPANDS
CR SERIES MULTI-STAGE PUMP OFFERING
|
Grundfos has just launched the latest addition to its CR range,
almost doubling the power available from a single CR pump; the maximum rated motor power has jumped from 60 HP to
100 HP. The new pumps are the
world’s largest multi-stage inline pumps, allowing for flows of up to 790
GPM. Overall, the addition
greatly expands the potential application areas of the CR range. More
power to meet customer demands Morten Gylling, Product Business Manager at Grundfos, has
nurtured the CR range for many years.
He describes the reasons behind the new addition as follows:
“It’s very simple, really.
We created a more powerful CR because there is a growing demand for larger
pumping solutions—in industries and elsewhere. The CR has always been about meeting
exact needs, so, of course, we respond to the trend towards high-capacity
installations.” |
|
CR pumps now handle even
more jobs
“At
the same time, the greater capacity also means that the CR is now relevant for
application areas it rarely
entered
before. This includes demanding
applications in water supply systems and in industrial process applica-
tions;
for example, it is worth noting that the new CR pumps are also available as CRN
pumps, meaning that
they
can be delivered in high-grade stainless steel. What is more, a single 100 HP unit can
often do the job of
two
smaller pumps—and you won’t need me to explain how that can cut costs!”
All familiar benefits
included
My
Gylling continues: “It was important for us to make sure that the more
powerful CR pump offered the same
benefits
as the smaller ones, so there was quite a lot of engineering work involved in
getting everything just
right
on a larger scale. We’re
happy to report we succeeded.
Efficient, customizable,
reliable
The
benefits referred to by Morten Gylling concern not only the superior
reliability of the CR. They also
include
a
customization concept that allows clients to choose the combination of pump
material, motor design, seal type,
connection
type, motor software, etc., that best suits them. The number of possible combinations is
well over
one
million, a clear indication of how popular the CR has grown.
Customized solutions on
a larger scale
“There’s
a CR combination to suit almost any application,” says Mr. Gylling. “And if you should find youself
want-
ing
something that’s not in our standard range, we can probably cook
something up for you.” Now,
that special
solution
can be larger than ever.
